Monogamia
A deut which is rooted in the image of a girl watching another girl dance. The choreography creates landscapes of queer intimacy, admiration, desire and softcore erotism. The piece is a critical and playful analysis of the classical ballet pas de deux, which serves not only as a formal reference but as a structure to be unraveled and re-contextualized to create space for new references and connotations. Further it plays with performative gestures coded as romantic or ‘couple-like’, and the internal contradictions of desire and longing within monogamous relationships—especially the unspoken fantasies that stretch beyond the partnered couple. It is a composition of images, constantly switching between the image and a situation.
